Alexander Makarov

Working for Hellevig, Klein & Usov as a senior lawyer since 2006, Mr. Alexander Makarov became our newest partner in August 2008.

Mr. Makarov specializes in real estate and corporate tax law. Besides real estate and taxation activities Mr. Makarov, as a partner, supervises our Mergers & Acquisitions division, oversees multiple litigation projects and real estate due diligence inquiries. His articles on these topics were published in various legal magazines throughout Russia.

Before joining our team, for over 8 years Mr. Makarov worked as a senior lawyer in several big Russian and international corporations. Alexander graduated from Urals State Law Academy in 1998 and University of San Diego Law School (Oxford University program) in 2007, where he studied International Commercial Arbitration.

As a member of the Russian Association of International Law, Alexander constantly stays up to date with the latest trends in this area. Currently Alexander is in the process of obtaining his LL.M. degree in American business from Pericles Law School in Moscow. He also had an opportunity to study American law taking summer courses at Fordham University in New York in 2008.

Alexander Makarov is fluent in English and in Russian.
